Ti-Cron braided polyester sutures are sterile, nonabsorbable surgical sutures made from polyethylene terephthalate. These sutures are crafted from high molecular weight, long-chain polyesters that contain repeating aromatic rings in their structure.
To enhance handling, Ti-Cron sutures are uniformly coated with silicone, which improves their lubricity. This makes them easier to handle, facilitates smoother passage through tissue, and allows for reliable knot run-down. They are biologically inert and cause only minimal local tissue response.
These sutures are designed for excellent tensile strength, offer improved slip resistance and superior knot security compared to other options, and provide long-term wound support. Ti-Cron sutures are indicated for general soft tissue approximation and ligation, including applications in cardiovascular procedures.
