The Forté Alaise represents a cutting-edge Hybrid Static Care Support Surface that combines the advantages of foam and air for effective pressure redistribution. It employs over 13 individual Air Cells to provide exceptional comfort, anatomical support, and pressure relief. The Alaise is particularly well-suited for long-term care situations where maximum pressure care is essential, and it demands virtually no maintenance.
The Alaise utilizes five distinct "banks" of air cells organized in zones that correspond to anatomical locations. Each bank is tailored to provide immersion and envelopment specific to the individual's size and weight, whether it's the scapular, pelvic, calf, or heel area. Additionally, the Forté innovation team has incorporated a reservoir system that redistributes air from the sacral region to the posterior of the knee, addressing an area of the body that is typically not in contact with the support surface.
The presence of foam components within the air cells allows users to have better body control. Firm and reinforced sides are integral in preventing pressure injuries and maintaining independence. In the Alaise, air is contained within cells both horizontally (four or more cells across) to maintain lateral stability and vertically (scapular, pelvic, calf, and heel) to prevent uncontrolled air movement to other parts of the mattress.
The Alaise incorporates air cells that extend from head to foot. The heels, a particularly vulnerable area for the development of Pressure Injuries, are fully protected with dedicated air cells featuring a heel slope and a softer Immersion area.
The Alaise achieves an extremely low level of sheer and friction with a compartmentalized anti-shearing inner cover. The air cells, foam, and outer cover are separated by a high-stretch slip material, creating a dynamic tension-reduction system, especially effective when using the adjustable bed function. The "slip" area is positioned below the outer cover to prevent instability on the interface.
