Calcium alginate dressing provides a haemostatic effect to help control minor bleeding in superficial wounds. It creates and maintains a moist environment, gels quickly, and is highly absorbent, retaining exudate in a gel form while ensuring excellent wet integrity.
Indications for use include moderate to heavily exuding superficial and deep wounds in the exudation and granulation phase, such as:
- Ulcers of various origins (venous, arterial)
- Leg ulcers
- Pressure injuries
- Diabetic ulcers
- Cavity wounds
- Acute wounds, including skin donor sites, post-operative surgical wounds, superficial and partial-thickness burns, lacerations, and abrasions.
