Tal worked as an academic specializing in wound management at the University of South Australia from 1991 to 2006, and currently serves as the Wound Management Clinical Practice Consultant at Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network. He is a founding member, Fellow, and Life Member of Wounds Australia, and a recently retired Board Director.
